Check out aging and longevity researcher UCS's Valter Longo's 2014 Scientific Study!

It's shows how cycles of prolonged fasting not only protects against immune system damage — a major side effect of chemotherapy — but also induces immune system regeneration, shifting stem cells from a dormant state to a state of self-renewal.


Longo’s study found that fasting for 3 days or longer can “reset” components of your immune system. Fasting forces your body to recycle immune cells that are not needed or damaged it also lowers White blood cells (or lymphocytes), a key component of your body’s immune system. This, in turn, triggers the immune system to start producing new white blood cells. As an added bonus, once you start eating again, your stem cells kick back into high gear to replenish the cells that were recycled.
